SOPHISTICATED ENTERTAINING
This main floor renovation was all about the details. The home has large spaces but they felt disconnected and dark. We opened it up and introduced new finishes to brighten the spaces. We added sophistication with the use of stunning millwork and layered lighting to bring the entire project to the next level.
PROJECT SUMMARY
The existing spaces within this home were large, but were too closed off from one another. One room functioned as office and living room, and did not offer enough privacy for either function. The views throughout the spaces felt interrupted and entertaining was challenging.
The living and kitchen spaces are connected by a bright and open sunroom. Our mandate was to introduce privacy while maintaining good light throughout the spaces.
We specified new finishes throughout including many millwork and finishing details to define the spaces, connect them visually, and add visual interest. We focused on layered lighting and used many textures to add interest and character.

PROJECT OUTCOME
The living areas and kitchen now feel open and bright, while maintaining their definition. The kitchen can support large groups to entertain and converse.
The office we created is dramatic and continues the use of millwork and textural details. The space benefits from the natural light from the sunroom, while the added inlay provides some privacy. The space has good traffic flow through to the adjoining spaces.
The living room feels cozy but sophisticated, with improved proportions and textures. The lighting throughout can be adjusted based on how the room is being used. The space can function as formal entertaining or a casual evening with family.
