SALISBURY
Functionality and connection were the themes of this kitchen renovation. This home had an awkward kitchen and felt separated from the exterior living spaces. We completely re-thought the flow of the home and through an epic kitchen renovation, the new open concept design is bright and open - ideal for this growing family.
PROJECT SUMMARY
Our goal was to remove the rear exterior wall across much of the house, creating an open concept living area and more functional kitchen. The existing kitchen had a sunken floor and was awkward. There was little connection to the outdoors and the spaces were challenging for every day traffic flow as well as gatherings.
The kitchen location remained, but the floor was made flush with the rest of the house. We improved on storage and flow within the space. We accommodated a mud room for this growing family’s needs, with direct access to the rear garage and yard. The new raised ceiling area allows for lots of light, and the open space is flexible and bright.
The exterior was intended to blend in with the existing house while adding more glass to enjoy the views and sunshine.
