LAKE HOUSE

This building was initially designed by an Architectural Designer to replace an existing home on the property. I began my relationship with the owners prior to permitting, allowing me to take over the architectural design plans and make some modifications as our design intent developed.
PROJECT SUMMARY
Our goals were to create a lake home that capitalizes on the views of the water, allows entertaining and grand-kid summer camps, and create dedicated spaces for some specific hobbies. The entire home was to match the same rustic / industrial aesthetic. The main living areas feature tall ceilings in an open concept plan. We needed to introduce definition to the individual spaces while maintaining the consistent aesthetic feel.
We were challenged by the volume; we needed to be sure the spaces felt comfortable and homey. We introduced textures and materials to break up some of the larger walls. The home features all the rooms one would expect, in addition to an open-concept library, two-person office space, gym, and games room. The wine room was particularly fun to design; here we could change our interior aesthetic to an old-world cellar feel.

PROJECT OUTCOME
During this build, I developed wonderful relationships with the owner, contractors and trades. The project required many meetings, site walk-throughs, and much problem solving. I am so very thankful for the opportunity and I couldn’t be more pleased with the result!
